Your role with us
As a Surgery Scheduler, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring a smooth, stress-free experience for patients preparing for surgery or procedures. From the moment a procedure is ordered to the final pre-operative clearance, you’ll be the expert behind the scenes coordinating, communicating, and caring. You’ll work closely with physicians, hospital teams, and patients to manage every logistical detail, making sure surgeries happen efficiently, on time, and with all necessary clearances and authorizations in place. What you'll do

Schedule surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic testing across departments, making sure everything aligns with hospital policies and physician preferences

Coordinate with providers, hospital staff, and surgical teams to arrange surgical assistants, co-surgeons, and block time usage

Guide patients through the pre-op process by answering questions, providing instructions, and preparing them for what to expect

Secure insurance pre-authorizations and ensure estimates are shared with patients in accordance with the No Surprises Act

Monitor and communicate delays, changes, or cancellations with physicians, hospital schedulers, and medical assistants

Ensure all necessary labs, imaging, and clearances are completed and sent to the correct locations prior to surgery

Greet and check out patients, collect co-pays and balances, and maintain accurate records while protecting patient confidentiality

Triage incoming calls and requests, routing messages appropriately and escalating urgent issues as needed

Assist with front-office responsibilities as needed, including paperwork, scheduling follow-up appointments, and supporting a positive patient flow
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of medical office experience
- 1 year of EMR experience
