The Northwest Civil War Council is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, dedicated to educating the public through Living History presentations of the American Civil War. Living History is our hobby and is one of the most dynamic mediums available to those in pursuit of the past. Our members wear authentically reproduced clothing, utilize black powder weapons, cook over open fires and sleep in canvas tents while they participate in battle reenactments and military or civilian life.
On May 17-19, 2024 we will have an event at Cheadle Lake in Lebanon, OR. It will be at Low Cost to the public. May 17 is our school day, there will be over 40 presentations for the students to attend from 10am to 3pm, finishing with a skirmish in which the students may participate if they wish. This is a great opportunity for the students to learn history in a fun and exciting environment. The students can walk around the camps, watch and at times even participate in the demonstrations.
We are all volunteers and overwhelmingly do this to educate and engage the public, especially our students.
