SUMMARY:Civil War Living History | Lebanon
DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Civil War Council is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization\, dedicated to educating the public through Living History presentations of the American Civil War. Living History is our hobby and is one of the most dynamic mediums available to those in pursuit of the past. Our members wear authentically reproduced clothing\, utilize black powder weapons\, cook over open fires and sleep in canvas tents while they participate in battle reenactments and military or civilian life. \n\nOn May 17-19\, 2024 we will have an event at Cheadle Lake in Lebanon\, OR. It will be at Low Cost to the public. May 17 is our school day\, there will be over 40 presentations for the students to attend from 10am to 3pm\, finishing with a skirmish in which the students may participate if they wish. This is a great opportunity for the students to learn history in a fun and exciting environment. The students can walk around the camps\, watch and at times even participate in the demonstrations. \n\nWe are all volunteers and overwhelmingly do this to educate and engage the public\, especially our students. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nCIVIL WAR AT CHEADLE LAKE MAY 17-19\, 2024 \n\nFriday MAY 17 is a School Day 9-3 admission: Students $3. Chaperones $5.\n\nThere will be many educational stations for the students to choose to visit ending the day with a skirmish in which the students may participate. \n\nSaturday May 18 will start with the American Legion Veterans Benefit Breakfast from 6:30-11am.\n\nCome have a great breakfast to help our Veterans and then spend the rest of the day with us in 1863. \n\nSaturday and Sunday 9-4\n\nAdults $5 and students 18 and under are FREE \n\nSunday will start with an 1863 Church Service at 9:15 There will be two battles each day and multiple demonstrations throughout our camps \n\nThe special prices for this event are made possible through the sponsorship of the Lebanon community
