    SALARY: for the 2024-25 school year, $22,585.74 - $44,387.41 depending on experience and education level, plus we pay your PERS contribution

    Sublimity School is excited to welcome a new 0.5 PE Teacher to our team beginning the 2024-2025 school year! Our mission is to help students reach their full potential and become productive citizens. We seek a part-time teacher to join our collaborative and diverse team. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, positive, and passionate about their field. This position will be a case manager for our K-8 building and will provide skill and play-based physical education instruction.
     

     

    About Us
    Sublimity Elementary is a unique K-8 school located approximately 20 minutes east of Salem, Oregon. While our students often perform well on standardized tests and other academic measurements, our primary goal is to help them perform well in life. We are fortunate to have the support of a very involved community, which is often reflected by our PTC's involvement and financial support. Our staff believes in setting high expectations for students, taking time to create intentional relationships within our community, and mentoring each other. We offer peer leadership opportunities, parent/family support, involvement, and experienced administration. Sublimity School is an AVID school, and we pride ourselves on having high-level instruction and rigor in every classroom.

    Applicants would provide instruction based on the district curriculum for physical education for elementary and middle school students, allowing them to reach their potential for physical, emotional, intellectual, and psychological growth and maturation. A successful applicant would be appropriately licensed.  

    Applicants should have knowledge of Professional Learning Communities, the ability to create a safe and orderly classroom and the willingness to work with team members to create a dynamic learning environment for all North Santiam School District students. Applicants should have:

     
    1. Current valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate authorization level required or ability to obtain one
    2. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, seek professional growth and improve classroom instruction
    3. Ability to demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior and to serve as an effective role model
    4. Regular attendance and punctuality
    5. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and the community
    6. Other qualifications as may be established by the school district
     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

     
    • Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that meets the individual needs and development of students
    • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all instructional units, projects, and lessons to communicate these goals and objectives to students
    • Effective communication, oral and written, with students, staff, parents, and the public
    • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
    • Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrate effective classroom management skills
    • Diagnose the needs and abilities of students and prescribe appropriate learning activities for each student
    • Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and maintain such records as required by law and District policy
    • Maintain excellence in instruction with focus on student outcomes
    • Utilize age-appropriate instructional strategies
    • Regular attendance and punctuality
    • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior
    • Familiarity with and following of established written standard operating procedures for specific responsibilities of this position
    • Perform other duties assigned by the administration
