Job Requirements

  • Perform complete and accurate registration for patients who require Hospital services.
  • Answer telephone calls for the Hospital and Medical Staff, triage and documents such calls appropriately, and accurately communicate applicable patient concerns to on-call Medical staff
  • When applicable, obtain prior authorization for inpatient care, outpatient care or surgery
  • Correctly prepare registrations for schedulers and Wound and Infusion Center Service staff
  • Accept payment and respond to patient account inquiries
  • Maintain awareness of Business Officer and administrative staff availability, and record applicable activity in the staff sign-out log
  • Assist with receptionist and clerical duties as requested
  • Verify health insurance information via telephone or online resources

Maintain strict confidentiality about matters related to Hospital human resources, fiscal condition or meetings that may be overheard or witness because of work area proximity to senior management offices

Qualifications

Education and Background

  • Knowledge of principles that relate to the position
  • Aptitude in verbal and written communication
  • Possession of United States proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
  • Possession of a driver license or analogous identification
  • Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and education in-service
