Pruning Basics: Fruit Trees & Blueberries
Presenters: Joyce & Carl Heinke, OSU Master Gardeners The fruit tree workshop will show fruit tree pruning basics plus ongoing care, fertilizing, and trellising of dwarf fruit trees. The knack to successful pruning is knowing When & What to prune, How & Where to prune, the Why of pruning, together with What “sharp” tools to use. OSU Master Gardeners will teach you the pruning basics that will keep your trees healthy, vigorous, and productive. As a bonus, you also receive tips for irrigating and fertilizing your trees. All that and much, much more. At the blueberry workshop you will learn how to properly prune and care for your blueberries. Preparing a planting bed, learning when and how to fertilize, and selection of blueberries varieties will also be covered.
