Youth Mental Health First Aid- This is a 8 hour course designed to prepare parents, educators, and service workers to assist a youth experiencing a mental health or substance use related crisis. Participants will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, sratagies for how to help in crisis and non crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
Learn a 5 step action plan to help youth in both crisis and non crisis situations.
Learn how to connect a student in crisis to appropiate services and supports.
Learn information about common mental health and addiction challenges.
Strengthening of skills and abilities on how to identify and reach out to youth in distress or crisis.
Receive YMHFA 3 year certification.
