January’s guest speaker is Oregon’s own, Dawson Durig, 2016 winner of the DAR National Outstanding Youth Volunteer for Veterans award. Durig, a member of Wilsonville’s Boy Scout Troop 194, will share his Eagle Scout project experiences, which led to raising community awareness of veterans and their sacrifices. His national award winning project was inspired by his grandfather, who was an airman in World War II and flew more than two dozen missions over Germany. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization which has promoted historic preservation, education and patriotism since its formation in 1890.
