2019 Oregon Legislative Update
The 2019 Oregon Legislative Session has been forecasted to be a turning point for Oregon's future, with many of the proposed bills having a potential impact on your business and your livelihood. During an average legislative session, between 1,600 to 1,700 bills are introduced, ranging from education reform to economic development incentives and healthcare measures to addressing homelessness. There are many paths a bill must take before it becomes a law. Learn how to keep informed of the bills that could impact your business and how to lend your voice in helping shape Oregon's future at SEDCOR's Economic Forum Business Lunch. Tonkon Torp Partner Rocky Dallum will provide a preview of Oregon’s 80th Legislative Session, which convenes on Tuesday, Jan. 22, with a deadline to finish its work by Sunday, June 30. He will discuss the bills being proposed and the possible impact on the state. Here’s your chance to get the scope from Rocky, who knows what's happening at the Legislature and ask questions. Rocky is a partner in the firm’s Government Relations & Public Policy Practice Group. His practice includes strategic counsel and direct advocacy for corporate and nonprofit clients engaging Oregon’s legislative and executive branches. Rocky is particularly active in the areas of tax policy, life sciences, and natural resources. Before joining Tonkon Torp, Rocky worked for nearly five years as in-house counsel at a large, public manufacturing company.
