Position Overview

We’re hiring a full-time Lead Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our growing shop team. This is a hands-on, leadership-track role designed for a seasoned fabricator who’s passionate about craftsmanship and ready to step into a position of increased responsibility over time.

You'll lead by example—producing precision-crafted architectural sheet metal components and helping set the pace and standard for the rest of the shop. As the team expands, you'll play a key role in onboarding, supporting, and eventually mentoring new fabricators. This position offers a clear path toward Shop Foreman for someone with both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom sheet metal components for roofing, flashing, gutters, siding, decorative trim, and ducting
• Operate brakes, shears, rollers, notchers, hand tools, and power tools to cut, form, and assemble parts with consistency and precision
• Interpret shop drawings and work orders to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficient output
• Take initiative to support workflow organization, job setup, and shop floor coordination
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces, reinforcing shop standards through personal example
• Perform quality checks on finished components for proper fit, form, and function
• Communicate with field teams to ensure parts meet installation requirements, and with Shop Foreman on job status and blockers
• Assist with inventory tracking, material handling, and routine equipment maintenance
• Contribute to a strong shop culture, and help establish a foundation for future mentorship—guiding peers on layout and welds—and team leadership as the department grows

Qualifications

• Valid Sheet Metal Journeyman card (Oregon or reciprocal state) required at time of hire
• 5-7+ years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, or construction trades
• Proven proficiency in advanced sheet metal fabrication techniques, with journeyman-level work in commercial and/or architectural applications
• Skilled in operating brakes, shears, notchers, and other shop equipment; CNC sheet metal experience a plus
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Safety-conscious, dependable, and collaborative in a team-oriented environment
• Punctual, reliable, and motivated to grow with a company that values initiative and leadership
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks
