Hello, Detroit lovers!
The Detroit Lake Fishing Derby is officially BACK ON and will be better than ever.
We've reinvented this treasured event to ensure plenty of social distancing and freedom to explore the lake to make your catches over the course of an entire month!
With this extra time, we have developed plans to make this derby the best one yet by increasing the number of fish dropped into the lake, by offering exciting raffle prizes, increasing the value of tagged fish up to $200 and more! We look forward to creating memories with you soon!

How it all works:
The lake is stocked with thousands of rainbow trout. 10 of the fish are tagged for cash prizes ranging from $50 to $200. Please join us and get your FISH ON!
Entry Fees:
Adult Entry Fee: $17 + Online Registration Fee (Limit 1,000 Adult Entrants)Child Entry Fee: $10 (13 years old and under) + Online Registration Fee (Limit 500 Boy & 500 Girl Entrants)
Registrants will choose to have their packet mailed or opt to pick up their fishing packet in town.
Registration Packet Pick Up Locations Include: Detroit Lake Market, River Run Gas Station or Mountain High Grocery & Gifts.
Each registrant will receive:
- 1 hat per entry (Limit the first 800 registrants)
- Fishing Derby Process & Rule Sheet
- 1 Punch Card Per Registrant (Identify Girl, Boy or Adult)
Event Dates:
August 1 - 31, 2020
Fish on!:
Plan your trip and catch up to 15 fish to be entered into the raffle. Fish will not be weighed this year, it will just be a physical count.
Check in fish at either Kane's or Detroit Lake Marinas to get your cards punched.
For each fish caught (up to 15) you will receive an additional raffle ticket for the entry raffle.
The legal limit is 5 fish per day.
Turn in Entry Forms:
Turn in your completed forms to River's Run Gas Station, Detroit Lake Market or Mountain High Grocery and Gifts.
Be sure that your ticket is legible and has accurate contact information to claim prizes.
For each fish caught, your name will be added an additional time into the raffle for the rod/reel combos for adults and the fishing net goody bags for children.

Grand Prize Adult: Smokercraft Boat & Trailer
12 Adult Fishing Net Goody Bags Including a Mini Rod/Reel Combo
Grand Prize Boy & Girl: 4 Bikes with Helmets
24 Children Fishing Net Goody Bags Including a Mini Rod/Reel Combo
Winner Announcements:
A virtual drawing will be held live on the Detroit Lake, Oregon Facebook page on September 1 at Noon at the Detroit City Hall.
Winners do not need to be present to win.
Winners will be notified via email by September 2, 2020.
Prize pick up is scheduled from 8 am to Noon on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Detroit City Hall. (Please maintain a safe social distance from others and face masks will be required.)
If unable to claim your prize on September 5th, please contact us to arrange pick up by emailing us at detroitlakeor@gmail.com.
Prizes must be picked up in town. No mailing of prizes.
Prize Raffle:
We will also be selling raffle tickets for a general raffle to raise funds for future events in Detroit.
This year, instead of 100's of prizes ranging in value, we will have 10 GRAND PRIZE PACKAGES including:
