SUMMARY:Linn Benton Startuo E-Cafe hosted by Oregon RAIN
DESCRIPTION:Join entrepreneurs for a structured meeting of mentorship\, problem-solving\, networking\, and accountability to help you grow your startup!\n\n\n\nStartup CAFE Overview:\n\n\n\nTwo of the biggest struggles for entrepreneurs and small business owners are networking and staying on track with their business goals. Startup Caf is a program that provides networking and accountability for entrepreneurs and small business owners. It is meant to be a sustainable and reproducible format that any member of the entrepreneurial community can use to host a meetup.\n\n\n\nThanks to COVID-19\, we are now taking Oregon RAIN Startup CAFE meetups online via Zoom\; hence the "E-CAFE"!\n\n\n\nUse this link to join us: https://corban.zoom.us/j/97503858482?pwd=WTFBRzE0SGxiT3I3Y0VxWnA1enJTZz09\n\n\n\nStartup Caf Rules for All Participants:\n\n\n\n-Choose to be inclusive as your default attitude. Allow this to be a safe place for everyone.\n\n-Do not share business information discussed unless permission has been given.\n\n-Limit how long you talk and give everyone a chance to speak. Keep your suggestions short.\n\n-Don't "should on" people. Offer advice but don't boss. Suggest ideas\, don't demand actions.\n\n-Allow people to disagree with you. Respectfully challenge ideas you disagree with.\n\n-This is not a place to market your service. If you are only attending to market your business\, please look for other networking groups. This meeting is about problem solving and accountability.\n\n-Come with the attitude of giving\, not getting.\n\n\n\nI Will Statements:\n\n\n\nOne of the biggest hurdles for entrepreneurs is staying focused and on task. By having weekly accountability for business goals\, you can feel supported and motivated.\n\n\n\nEach week\, attendees are asked to make one or two S.M.A.R.T. goals (specific\, measurable\, assignable\, relevant\, time-based) for their business\, as an "I Will Statement".\n\n\n\nFor example: "I will test my new prototype on 10 customers by this time next week" or "I and my co-founder will complete our seed round pitch deck and practice our presentation twice by this time next week."\n\n\n\nEvery week\, the group reviews the previous week's "I Will Statements" and challenges each other to stay true to their goals. If an entrepreneur does not complete a goal\, they are asked to verbally contribute $10-$20 (optional) to the "pot" as additional motivation. At the end of the quarter (or mutually agreed time)\, the proceeds from missed "I Will Statements" go towards a group dinner or lunch event!\n\n\n\nMoney is a great motivator and it makes accountability feel competitive and fun. Entrepreneurs are allowed to message their completed goals before the meeting if they are unable to attend that week.\n\n\n\nFor more information about this meetup\, email Corey Wright at corey@oregonrain.org.\n\n\n\nAccessibility:\n\n\n\nOregon RAIN wants everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable at our events!\n\n\n\nPlease contact us if there are any accommodations that we can make for you that will encourage your participation and we will do our best to meet your needs. Depending on the event type\, accommodations may include things such as: reserving front row seating\, an advance copy of slides to be projected\, wheelchair access\, language translation\, childcare needs\, etc \n\n\n\nThis event is made possible by funding from the following:\n\nAdair Village\, Albany\, Brownsville\, Halsey\, Harrisburg\, Lebanon\, Monroe\, Philomath\, Sweet Home\, Linn County\, Benton County\, Oregon Community Foundation\, and The Ford Family Foundation.
