The contest is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about their city and envision the possibilities of their future.\n\nThe contest guidelines include:\n\n\n You must be enrolled in school within Stayton's city limits.\n Students must submit their projects to the city where they are enrolled.\n Submissions must have an OMA Entry Form. (Entry Form)\n This contest is open to all students\, including those enrolled in home-school and alternative academic programs.\n Submissions should be emailed by a teacher\, parent\, or guardian to the city's contest representative. For Stayton that is the Community Engagement Coordinator at csmithrud@staytonoregon.gov.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe contest categories:\n\n\n\n\n\nPosters - Grades 4-5\n\n\n Students are encouraged to be creative and may use any art medium (paint\, felt pens\, colored pencils\, pastels\, crayons\, 3D art\, etc.).\n Send a photo of the poster as .PNG\, .JPEG or PDF file.\n Students who win will receive $50 and $50 for their classroom.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEssays - Grades 6-8 \n\n\n Essays must be 500-1\,000 words in length and typed.\n Formats: Word\, PDF\, or PowerPoint.\n Students who win will receive $100 and $100 for their classroom. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDigital Media Presentations - Grade 9-12 \n\n\n Presentations must be one to three minutes in length and submitted via email.\n Formats: MP4 or online video format.\n \n Students who win will receive $150 and $150 for their classroom.\n Winners for each category will have their project submitted to the OMA's statewide competition for chance at $500 grand prize.
