This is a chance to invite a friend to learn more about this amazing ministry\, in which we\, as individuals can have an active role in preventing child neglect by keeping children safe when their family is experiencing a temporary crisis.  A summary of the day:\n\n1.       At the morning session you will hear from Oregon Senator Peter Courtney\; Dick Withnell\, Community and Civic Leader\; Fariborz Pakseresht\, Director of the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS)\; and Dr. Dave Anderson\, Founder of Safe Families for Children. Followed by an update on Safe Families in Oregon and  "Voices from Experience" a testimony of a Host Family and the family they served.\n\n2.       To equip you as a volunteer and deepen your understanding of children and families\, there will be a training on Trauma Informed Care and ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences).   \n\n3.       Our luncheon inspirational keynote speaker is B.J. Walker\,former acting director at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. You will want to hear about her experiences and her hope for the future of our children!\n\n4.       In the afternoon you will learn more about Generous Hospitality and how you can use your story in an effort to excite and involve your church\, community and individuals to join the Safe Families team.\n\n5.       At the closing session\, BJ Walker will again share from her heart. We will provide space for regional teams to network and invite you to stay beyond 3:30 to continue networking with others locally and from around the state.
