Eligible for excellent hiring incentives, including a Start Bonus and Relocation Assistance (for hires relocating from greater than 100 miles). To qualify for the bonus candidates must not have been employed by Salem Health in the last 6 months. Your Role With Us:
You will be required to use your outstanding organizational skills to ensure that areas on patient care floors are stocked with appropriate supplies and equipment, and all unused equipment is returned for cleaning and storage location in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Core Functions
  • All oxygen therapy, respiratory and pressure monitoring, are routinely checked for use and appropriate operation in accordance with department policy
  • Accurate and complete charting immediately following the technicians’ rounds. All appropriate paperwork is correctly completed prior to the end of the shift.
  • All storage areas are routinely checked and filled as needed to maintain adequate supplies. Storage areas are maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Discontinued equipment is decontaminated in dirty utility rooms on the nursing unit and returned to Respiratory Care ready for use. Equipment requiring sterilization is disassembled, packaged and labeled for pick-up by sterile processing. Sterile equipment is returned to stock.
  • Technician maintains the records for equipment rentals from outside vendors. Monitors ongoing needs for equipment and arranges for the return of unused equipment.
  • Uses interpersonal skills which convey a positive and supportive attitude (e.g., active listening, good communication, telephone etiquette)
  • Uses hospital/department resources appropriately by making cost-conscious decisions in the use of department resources, supplies, and equipment
  • High school diploma (or equivalent), required.
  • Current BLS Certification from the AHA, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills both one-on-one and in group situations and ability to function appropriately under stressful conditions.
