Job Summary: Full-time, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Department Description: The Purchasing Department is undergoing a transition of leadership and culture. In the coming year we will be challenged to both lay the foundation for the future of a high-functioning department, as well as keep pace with the rapid expansion of Santiam Hospital. We will strive to create an efficient supply chain, one that other hospital departments can depend on for the timely provision of their supplies. This will allow them to better carry out their functions and provide a higher quality of care to our patients.   • Pick stock and deliver to supply rooms throughout the hospital
  • Deliver incoming packages and equipment to their appropriate location
  • Unpack and put away bulk freight orders
  • Maintain central inventory in a clean and organized manner
  • Accurately receive purchase orders both digitally and manually
  • Consistently communicate with all hospital departments to ensure supply needs are met
  • Learn inventory management basics, make recommendations and insights on stock levels and supply chain procedures
  • Become familiar with vast array of medical equipment and supplies
  • Potential future responsibilities given upon mastery of basic responsibilities:
  • Place orders for hospital supplies in an efficient and thorough manner, making adjustments based on changes in hospital activity and market disruptions
  • Reorganize inventory layout, as directed, to accommodate ever-changing hospital supply needs
  • Assist with implementation of new materials management technologies
  • Develop an extensive knowledge of the medical supply market


  • Previous experience with inventory distribution preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and have quality interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to operate independently
  • Must be able to lift, push, and slide packages that may weigh up to 50 lbs
  • Ideal candidate for the job is someone who takes initiative and actively seeks to improve their work environment and the hospital as a whole, as well as build upon their own personal job skills
  • Must be able to work well with a team and have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment
  • Ideal candidate is someone who wants to pursue a long-term career in Supply Chain and Logistics management
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License (insurable)
