Your Role With Us:
The Anesthesia Practice Manager is responsible for the operations of anesthesia services; including 24/7 oversight of inpatient and outpatient operations. This includes day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning in coordination with Medical Director(s). The manager works collaboratively with operational leaders in an effort to develop and implement standards to improve processes. The manager collaborates with providers, surgical services service line, and other hospital departments to facilitate and improve patient services, quality, and experience. Responsible for hiring, development, performance improvement, and personnel management of providers. Works in partnership with Medical Director(s) regarding physician and clinical operations. Accountable for financial performance of department and responsible for decision making to meet financial targets.

Core Functions:
  • Participates in planning, developing, and evaluating strategic direction for anesthesia services in concert with Medical Director(s). Works effectively to lead providers to accomplish organizational and department goals.
  • Responsible for 24/7 day-to-day operations and operationalizing strategic direction in conjunction with Medical directors for anesthesia services. This includes accountability for anesthesia providers, managing schedules, provider recruitment and onboarding, performance management, financial performance, Epic and IS needs coordination, compliance and accreditation readiness, and business operations.
  • Works collaboratively with operational and ancillary leaders within and outside of Salem Health on developing and implementing standards and improving processes and relationships. Collaborates physicians, surgical services, and hospital departments to facilitate and improve patient services, quality, experience and strategic goals of hospital.

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business administration or related field required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) year of progressive leadership experience required.
  • Knowledge of physician practices and experience in physician practice management
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in coaching, managing and mentoring staff.
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with department personnel, vendors, peers, management and other customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication style. Able to perform public speaking and leadership of group activities.
  • Ability to engage others in two-way dialogue and problem-solving.
  • Ability to form positive, collaborative relationships with hospital staff, patients, families and post-acute providers.
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple issues and adjust to changing situations and needs.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a proactive, creative manner, using sound judgment based on factual information and clinical knowledge.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Ability to develop or demonstrate leadership skills and to serve as a role model for clinical staff.
  • Computer skills related to equipment and software used in the department.
  • Ability to work independently and provide direction to Operation Specialist.
  • Excellent understanding of technology.
  • Ability to think creatively about the use of technology, data collection, and reporting.
  • Requires good management and team leading skills, and an understanding of budgetary matters.
