Description/Qualifications:
Eligible for excellent hiring incentives, including a Start Bonus and Relocation Assistance (for hires relocating from greater than 100 miles). To qualify for the bonus candidates must not have been employed by Salem Health in the last 6 months. Bonuses are available to external applicants only and are subject to all applicable tax withholding.
 

Your Role With Us:
As the Imaging Tech Aide, you play a key role in the Imaging Services department by supporting clinical staff and expediting patient flow. You'll assist technologists and physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. Our goal is to provide patient care activities that improve the timely flow of patient throughput and operational efficiency. You will succeed by being flexible, self-motivated and willing to accept a variety of patient care assignments.

 


Core Functions:

  • Accurately documents pertinent patient information using verbal, written and electronic communication.
  • Answers telephones and call lights promptly.
  • Initiates appropriate plan of care to address holistic, age-specific needs and reflect the patient’s changing condition. Uses appropriate skills related to knowledge of specific age needs and behaviors when communicating with and treating patients.
  • Assist with the safe lifting/transferring of patients within the department. Practices safe lifting/transfer techniques, including the use of minimal lift equipment and devices where able.
  • Keep rooms clean and prepared keeps the environment safe, assuring each room has suction ready, ambu bags under stretchers, call lights within patient reach, beds in low and locked position, keeping rooms clean and organized, provide 1:1 care of patients. Assists with stocking of department during shift.
  • Reviews radiology orders for completeness/errors/discrepancies and reconciles discrepancies with provider.
  • Transports/escorts patients and/or supplies/lab specimens to and from nursing units, other Imaging departments, Emergency Department, front reception area, and other designated locations.
  • Conducts routine stress testing, including, but not limited to, exercise stress testing, pharmacological stress testing, and stress echocardiograms under direct physician supervision
    a. Assesses and prepares patients for procedure
    b. Follows ordered protocol and obtains data for physician interpretation
    c. Monitors patients (including electrocardiograph and vital signs) and their response

Background/Expertise:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Recent (within past two (2) years) experience in acute care setting required.
  • Previous experience in Imaging/Radiology or as a cardiac technician preferred.
  • BLS certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Basic cardiac monitoring certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
