Job Description

This opening is for a 7.5 hour/day position.


Job Goal:  Provide a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate atmosphere for the children of working staff during COVID 19. 



Essential Requirements:

  • Provide direct care to children in a nurturing manner. 
  • Provide supportive and positive direction and feedback to students.
  • Encourage, build self-esteem, and help students and parents feel ‘safe’ and comfortable.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
  • Work as a supportive and positive team member with everyone in the daycare.
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality of children and parents.
  • Provide feedback to parents on status and needs of children.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings.
  • Complete special assignments/projects as assigned by TOSA and/or HR Director.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education with a focus in Early Childhood Education or similar.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply basic child care skills. Ability to perform essential functions with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to communicate well in writing and orally. Ability to consistently model appropriate use of spoken and written English language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional relationships, and work in harmony with supervisors, other staff, students, parents, and the general public.
  • Have or obtain a standard first aid card and a CPR card.
  • Passage of fingerprint-based criminal records check.
  • Physical and mental skills and abilities needed to perform essential functions.

  1. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and staff
  2. Act as a friendly ambassador for the North Santiam School District
  3. Perform such other tasks (which may require knowledge of other job descriptions) as may seem appropriate to the Board or Administration

Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.
