Network Operations Support Technician

The Network Operations Support technician must have experience in supporting, troubleshooting, monitoring and adjusting corporate Windows based Workstations to assure network uptime and performance. Position will also support external peripheral devices such as phones, printers, scanners, etc.

Job Description:

Summary 

This position assists in supporting, troubleshooting, monitoring and adjusting corporate Windows based Workstations to assure network uptime and performance. Position will also support external peripheral devices such as phone’s, printers, scanners etc.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

·         Monitor and adjust corporate Windows based workstations to ensure user up-time.

·         Provide support for end-user and networked peripherals, e.g., printer, scanners, fax machines, and photocopiers

·         Answer Help Desk Phone and e-mail requests

·         Log all support requests and resolutions in help desk call-tracking system

·         Create and/or maintain Help Desk related information, records and documentation

·         Load peripheral equipment such as tapes and printer paper for operating runs.

·         Under general supervision install new hardware, install software, and assist users with computer related problems.

·         Configure and install network hardware and software and generally troubleshoot all computer related problems.

·         Phone support for field force computer software related issues.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

 

·         Entry Level I – 0 to 2 years in similar job

·         Level II – 2+ years in similar job

·         Level III – 4+ years in similar job

·         Knowledge of computer system backup requirements and procedures.

·         Knowledge of computer input and output media.

·         Ability to initialize and operate computer hardware and software systems.

·         Ability to determine the nature of computer hardware and systems software problems, and to communicate technical information to users.

·         Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.

·         Good interpersonal skills.

·         Displays a good-natured, cooperative attitude and is pleasant with others on the job. 

 

Working Conditions

 

Work is performed in an office environment. May sit for long periods of time. Visual acuity to perform reading and computer functions. Duties require ability to lift objects up to 40 pounds.
