Public may submit events for inclusion on our event calendar. Events must be held in the region served by the Stayton Sublimity Chamber OR events affliated with their local members. Event Description:
This year we have a several new community volunteers helping to coordinate the events. Stayton’s festivities start off with the 33rd Annual Stayton Old-Time Fourth of July Fun Run & Walk, presented by the Stayton Road Runners and Stayton Boy Scout Troop 50. Registration and check-in begin at 8 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. at the Stayton Community Center.

Habitat for Humanity will hold their annual fundraiser. The SLAMMS’ Chuck Wagon Breakfast will offer pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee, served from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Stayton Elementary School. Cost is $7 for adults, $6 for Fun Run participants, and $5 for seniors and children. Donations will be accepted to help build the next Habitat home in Stayton whose location has not yet been chosen.

The Grand Parade, presented by the Stayton Loyal Order of Moose, begins at 4 p.m. The theme this year is A Star Spangled Spectacular. Participants will stage on Regis Street and down Gardner Avenue. The procession will proceed east on Regis Street from Regis High School to First Avenue; south on First Avenue to Washington Street; west on Washington Street to Gardner Avenue; north on Gardner Avenue to Regis Street; East on Regis Street to Regis High School. Registration opens at 1:00 in front of Regis High school. Entry fee is $15.00. Parade entries are available at Stayton City Hall, The Chamber and on line at
staytonevents.com. Entries that are lined up by 2:30 will be judged and ribbons will be awarded before the parade begins. For more information contact stayton4thparade@wvi.com or call Suzi Kilby at 503-910-7282.

The evening’s events will take place at the Stayton High School practice grounds. The evening activities begin at 5:30. The Stayton High School Football Team, the Stayton Moose Lodge and Friends of the Family will have delicious food and snacks. The Stayton High School Cheerleaders will be operating kids’ games and bounce houses.  DJ Alan Pinto will be playing tunes to listen and dance to. At 10:00 the Stayton Lions Club will present the great fireworks display. No personal fireworks or alcohol or pets will be allowed on the Stayton High School grounds.
